Northwest Backcountry Horsemen embraces youth as an essential part of our chapter. Through intentional mentorship and hands-on training, we prepare young people for safe, responsible time in Montana’s backcountry.

4H Trail & Packing Project
Our 4H Trail & Packing project is one pathway within our broader youth mentorship efforts. Youth ages 8–17 learn horsemanship, packing skills, trail maintenance, and traditional crosscut techniques while developing leadership and stewardship values.
